On 20 September, colleagues from MOLCN, MLGCN, MCSCN, UTOC and G2O came together at Golden Bay Peninsula by Dianshan Lake in Shanghai for MOL BLUE ACTION DAY 2026. Guided by MOL Group's mission - "From the blue oceans, we sustain people's lives and ensure a prosperous future", the MOL Group Shanghai Office dedicated the day to environmental action, collaboration, and meaningful connections across companies.

Setting Sail Together

The day began with ice-breaking activities and a team briefing. Participants were divided into six mixed teams across companies and divisions. Colleagues who rarely cross paths at work were soon chatting, laughing, and preparing for the day ahead.

Putting BLUE ACTION into Practice: Caring for Dianshan Lake

The environmental programme was at the heart of the day. Water teams set out by kayak to collect floating waste from the lake, while land teams cleaned up litter along the shoreline. With life jackets on and safety always put first, everyone played their part in leaving the lakeside cleaner than they found it. Afterwards, the collected waste was sorted and weighed, turning the morning’s efforts into a visible result.

This small, hands-on action reflects our broader commitment behind BLUE ACTION: protecting the blue oceans and waterways that support our business and communities.

Stronger Together Through Challenges

After a relaxing lakeside BBQ lunch, the teams took on the Ball Challenge and the Tower Challenge. These activities encouraged communication, problem-solving, and teamwork, demonstrating how colleagues from different companies can achieve more when working towards a common goal. The cheers that followed showed how much more we can accomplish when we trust and support one another.

Building Our Ship, Raising Our Sail

The highlight of the afternoon was a group ship-building project. Colleagues worked together to assemble the vessel’s framework and paint sails featuring the MOL logo, MOL CHARTS and BLUE ACTION-inspired designs. Through teamwork and shared creativity, simple materials were transformed into a striking vessel that captured the spirit of the day.

The best moment came when Nakanishi-san raised the completed main sail, bringing everyone’s efforts together in one symbolic scene. Standing proudly beside Dianshan Lake, the ship reminded us that, like a vessel following its chart, we go further when we move forward together.

One Team, One Direction

The day concluded with results, awards, and a group photo capturing the memories created together. More than an environmental initiative, MOL BLUE ACTION DAY 2026 demonstrated what the MOL Group Shanghai Office can achieve as one team: caring for our environment, connecting across companies, and living our shared values through everyday action.💙
